Important to Know
A doula does not:
- • Perform clinical or medical tasks (no vaginal exams, fetal monitoring, etc.)
- • Make medical decisions for you or speak to staff on your behalf
- • Replace your partner—we work together as a team
- • Provide medical advice or diagnoses
A doula does: Provide continuous emotional, physical, and informational support while respecting your autonomy and working alongside your healthcare team.
